The produced safe herbicides are nano-emulsion formulation (NE) of two fixed oils of Eruca sativa (Rocket Salad) and white mustard (Sinapis alba L) against Phalaris minor and Malva parviflora with faba bean (Vicia faba) plant. An emulsion of Eruca sativa and mustard oil was prepared from Tween 20 and Tween 80 at a concentration of 2% and dodecyl sodium sulfite at a concentration of 4%, wherein dodecyl sodium sulfate was added to the amount of water, then Tween 20 and Tween 80 were added with the stirrer running at a speed of 20000 rpm, then the oil was put drop by drop at the same speed and after adding the oil, leave it for 30 minutes until the emulsification is complete. Oil-in-water nano-emulsions are currently considered as promising tools for taking advantage of the bioactivity of oils and their components against grass. Post-emergence application of oils and oils NE at different concentrations (2.5%, 5% and 7.5 % of oil) on leaves of P. minor and M. parviflora with faba bean plants were tested during two winter seasons under greenhouse conditions. All oils and oils NE concentrations were effective in suppression of weeds germination. E. sativa and S. alba oils at concentration 7.5% decreased weed growth. Complete lethality was observed by 5% E. sativa NE and S. alba NE When sprayed on the weeds. Thus, smaller quantities of E. sativa NE and S. alba NE can be used for weed control, with greater effectiveness. Transmission electron microscope (TEM) pictures confirmed NE particle size. Nano-emulsions had milky color and lower transmission percentage ranged from 47 -65 for E. sativa and 53.3- 76.9 for S. alba L. NE of E. sativa and S. alba oils have herbicidal properties as they have high phytotoxic effect, and interferes with the germination, growth and physiological processes of the weeds. The management of weeds is reflected on V. faba growth and physiological parameters as well as yield traits. The production of NE from E. sativa and S. alba oils are safe ecofriendly natural herbicides for controlling two weeds under investigation (Phalaris minor and Malva parviflora) associated with V. faba plants in organic agricultural systems.
